Benchmarking Tool
The “Benchmarking tool” aims to assist farmers and advisors in recording digitally the cultivation practices and to automate the calculation of important and useful performance indicators. It also offers the option to compare calculated indicators from different farms and/or for different cultivation periods. The tool also includes information about the DATSs that have been utilised and are associated with specific farming activities allowing the user of the “Benchmarking tool” to correlate performance with agricultural technology solutions. This allows the extraction of conclusions on the usefulness and the applicability of DAT in specific contexts and specifically the user can perform:
- Side by side comparisons – analyse performance indicators for two different parcels or groups of parcels or compare the same parcel across different seasons.
- Reference benchmarking – compare the results with anonymised farm calendar datasets supplied by Test Cases, which reflect real world practices and environmental conditions.
The new release adds richer aggregate calculations, factors in key weather data, and includes ready to import pilot CSVs for fast benchmarking and demos.
Please note: Use of the tool requires registration and login.
The source code of the tool is available here.

The user will be able to compare with the use of the calculated performance indicators:
- two different parcels or groups of parcels (please note that the parcel id textbox may get as input comma separated values and calculate the indicators with the use of farm calendars from these parcels),
- the same parcel for different time periods.
